Geographical Atheism By Chris McCann Atheists like to say Christians are Christians due to geographical influence of Christianity in certain parts of the world. And if we lived in another part of the world we would be Muslims or Buddhists. Of course God's Word goes into all nations via the electronic medium and people from communist countries, Muslim countries, Buddhist countries, etc. etc. have become saved. God will save whom He will save. But it is interesting that there has been such a great rise of atheism in western civilizations. This rise has coincided with the fall of the Christian church as God has ended the Church Age and caused His Spirit to depart out of the midst of the congregations. The good, or godly influence of the churches has long since gone thereby resulting in increased unbelief and secularism in society surrounding it. I wonder if these atheists did not have the ungodly influence of secular TV stations and practically the whole rest of culture as well and the ungodly influence of secular educational systems along with the ungodly influence of atheistic professors if they might not have become atheists? Actually, it is curious that some atheists seem to have left Christianity and become atheists at almost the exact time wherein God was removing His Spirit from the midst of the congregations. And since the church presence was greatest in western cultures it is not surprising that we see a rise in atheism most especially in those same cultures that God has basically given up at the end stage of earth's history. It is ironic that the atheist speaks of geographical religion when the very things he says about it could be applied to his own unbelief.
