Obamacare means you have to pay more to subsidize all kinds of things that don’t impact you. And of course it has led to further consolidation in the industry. It’s a little like how Dodd Frank supposedly reformed the financial industry but really just locked in the dominant positions of the largest banks - the only ones that could afford the compliance costs. Any kind of big federal regulation that aims to ‘solve’ a problem usually just entrenches the largest players and makes life worse for normal people.
