Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno says he has no plans to make any more experimental live action films. He says working on commercial productions doesn't offer much room to include experimental elements. He considers Shiki-Jitsu (Ritual) as his experimental live action movie.
He also says he's sad he doesn't really get a sense of accomplish for "just" completing a project nowadays, rather completing a project is the natural responsibility of a creator. He also mentioned he never had "fun" while making his own independent projects because the process was tiring.
